Summer sunsets

Hi everyone. I hope you and yours are doing well.

I am enjoying my little blogging break, but I just wanted to share with you a few sunsets. When we walk in the mornings during autumn, winter and spring we walk along a couple of bushland paths near us, particularly when the wildflowers are out. We have a few options, including two very close to home along the Collie River and the Manea Park Reserve.

But in summer as it is here now in Australia, it is way too hot to walk in the mornings, so it has become out habit to walk after dinner, on a circuit that takes us along the Leschenault Estuary only a few minutes from our home. We have seen some beautiful sunsets.

If it has been a very hot day like yesterday, there is a cooling breeze in the evening coming off the Indian Ocean just beyond the sandhills on the other side of the Estuary. It really is a lovely place to walk in the evening. That is part of the Bunbury Port facility you can see in the background of this image.

It is a popular place for family picnics and also for people to go scoop netting for crabs or take their dogs for a walk or swim.

I usually just take my phone, so I can't expect anything too spectacular, but sometimes I take my big camera and play around with some shots.

That's it from me today. I hope you are yours are doing well and staying safe. Remember to smile behind those masks - people can see it in your eyes when you do.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today. I value your comments and look forward to hearing from you. I will try to visit your blogs in return. Have a wonderful week.

  1. I read this while snow is falling in Athens and am so looking forward to when I have to wait until the evening's coolness to do activities. Your sunsets are gorgeous and I can imagine seeing them in real life!

  3. Jill - thanks for taking the time to link up even during your "break". Stunning shots - the grass picture is perfect - I can sense the motion because of the way you took the shot - clever woman! We have started planning a beach vacation in May, and your photos added to my anticipation of spectacular sunsets!

  4. Hello Jill, I happened to see your image on Our World. Hope you are doing well in this new yea!. Have started making pottery and is one of the reasons i had to let go of All Seasons, so I would have more time:) Here in Texas it is cold and am writing you with having a sweater on. I did start painting again in front of an audience like 8 years ago, and gives me much joy. Emille (Jesh)

  5. What I like about sunsets is that you never get two the same. They are all different with different colours in the sky. You're lucky that you get sunsets over the water in the west.
