Catching up on my photo-a-day project - 9-31 August 2020

Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well. I saw this the other day, a friend had shared from the "Power of Positivity" facebook page. I thought so true, particularly these days if you are feeling weary of the Covid pandemic. I know I am. But reading this list I know I have much to be grateful for.

I have been continuing with my photo-a-day project. And I am grateful for being able to recently get away for a couple of weeks to places along the Coral Coast in Western Australia.  Here is one or 2 photos from each of those days we were away.

I am sorry if the collages are small...if you click on them you should be able to see them larger and read the captions.

And the first of the spring wild orchids - the Reaching Spider Orchid

My home computer crashed when we returned home, plus my current photos drive. Thankfully I had backed up the photo drive, and the computer man recovered our documents from our main drive, but not our programs. It has been very stressful but I've managed to reinstall the programs with the help of some very helpful companies, and I think I have just about got everything sorted again. Though I have lost all the "google"tabs I had.

The message here is BACK UP and BACK UP again. It is not "if it might happen" but "when". This is the second time in a few years for me. I am seriously considering "the cloud". How do you save your images? Perhaps you might like to tell us in your comments.

I also shared a few photos from our trip here:

Thank you so much for stopping by. I value your comments and look forward to hearing from you. I will try to visit your blogs in return. Have a wonderful week.

  5. The fish swimming in the water is a work of art! It's beautiful and would be perfect to enlarge and print! I love the first list of things to be thankful for too. I love my life and give thanks for all my blessings every day. Take care and have a good week. Oh, we watched a little video of a mama Koala Bear in Australia with young ones...each one trying to pile on her back. It was so cute and funny to watch. She was very patient!

  6. Jill - so that I would not forget, I started making a list of all the photos that I like - I ran out of room on my little slip of paper! You are SUCH a talented photographer! As already mentioned in other comments, the fish picture is stunning - it looks like a painting already!

And I am always amazed at how casually you show a wallaby and a bower bird. What I wouldn't give to see them with my own eyes! And of course, you know I adore the orchids!

Thanks for the reminder about the "simple things" - I am not having the best of days, and this helped to put things in perspective! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

  10. The photos are so varied. It should be called a treat a day. I save my photos on the sd cards rather than transferring them to the computer to save although i have just bought an extra drive so that i can save them there as well.

    1. hmm... I would have thousands of sd cards :) and I've had two external hard drives now...so I am starting to worry. I was backing them up to cd at one time, but that has gotten away from me.

  11. Thank you so much Jill, am admiring your beautiful flower captures! Such a variety in your post for All Seasons - many thanks:) The covid has not made that much impact on my thinking, maybe that is where having worked in the mental health field has an impact - also, I don't believe half of what they're saying in the media:):) Keep yourself strong with your family and with nature, and you will be all right! Have a lovely week, Jesh

  13. Oh man, I've had my computer crash before, back in 2009 I lost 5 years worth of photos and was devastated. I back up and save them now in several places.

    1. 5 years photos! I would be devastated. It was bad enough when I lost 6 months worth a couple of years ago.
