2022 Dardanup Art Spectacular

I was awarded a highly commended for my image of autumn leaves in the Balingup Tree Park.

2022 - Aspects of Childhood - South Side Quills, December 2022

My writer's group latest anthology - Aspects of Childhood - dips into childhood memoir - real, imagined or embellished - some heartwarming, some funny, some confronting - but all with a basis in truth somewhere. Cover photo by Jodie Deeley, Bunbury.

2021 - 1st Prize Photography, Dardanup Art Spectacular & Manjimup Fungi Photo Competition

I won first prize in the photography section of the Dardanup Art Spectacular and the Manjimup Fungi Photo Competition with my fungi image entitled "Curling"

2021 Runner-Up Photographer of the Year-PGoB

I was runner-up for the third year for the Photographer of the Year at the Photography Group of Bunbury based on points gained during the year for monthly image entries.

2020 South West Virtual Arts Spectacular

I received 2nd place for my "Spice" image and a highly commended in the adult photography section of this Art awards instigated during the Covid 19 crises.

2020 - 2nd place - Photographer of the Year

At the Photography Group of Bunbury awards night I was awarded 2nd place Photographer of the Year, 3 Highly commended colour images, and consistency award for most images entered in their monthly competitions.

2019 - 2nd place Photographer of the Year

Jill was awarded 2nd place Photographer of the Year, highly commended Mono image, highly commended colour image, and consistency award at the Photography Group of Bunbury's awards night in November 2019

2018 - Photographer of the Year

In November 2018 Jill was awarded Photographer of the Year at the Photography Group of Bunbury for total accumulated points awarded during the year at the monthly club exhibitions, Highly Commended Colour image for a photo taken of young guys surfing the backwash in Bunbury, and the Consistency award for the most images entered during the year. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me on my photography journey.

2018 - Emerging Artist Award

Jill was thrilled to be awarded the Emerging Artist Award at the Dardanup Art Spectacular in May 2018 for her botanical eco-print eucalypt leaves on printmaker's paper entitled "Leaf Fall".

2020 - Australia's Creative Native Cuisine

My image of an Australian quandong appeared on the front cover of this Australian native cuisine cookbook produced by Brolly Books in Australia, 2020

2017 - Colour Image of the Year - PGoB

In November 2017 I was awarded the Colour Image of the Year 2017 with the Photography Group of Bunbury, with this image I took when walking along our local estuary, which was entered in the April topic "Breaking the Rules". I was also runner-up in the Photographer of the Year on accumulated points from the monthly club exhibition nights. Your can purchase this image from me as a greeting card. I was very happy to be a photographic contributor for the Photo Book of Bunbury - Loving Where we Live - Glimpses of Bunbury through the Eyes of the Locals, compiled by Catherine Curnow and launched on 1 December 2017. Please click on the image to find out more.

The Runaway Quill - 2016

The Runaway Quill, which was launched in August 2016, is an anthology of writing from Bunbury's South Side Quills writers group, of which Jill is a member. Copies now available at a greatly reduced price of $10 each. Please let me know if you would like to purchase one.

Ferguson Valley Plated - 2015

In 2015 Jill was one of the food photographers for Ferguson Valley Plated, launched in October 2015, through a collaboration with Kim Wesley from Peppermint Lane Lodge.

Against the Light 2015

Jill won the Against the Light 2015 photographic competition conducted by the WA Photographic Federation in September 2015 with this image seen on the cover of the book.

Life's Journey

It is not what life does to you that is important, but what you do with what life does to you. - Chinese saying.

Frangipani

This Frangipani in my garden has just started to flower after many years. Sometimes it can take years to create something beautiful. The journey can be as beautiful as the end result.

The sunshine in my life

My family and friends are the most precious part of my life. Like the sunflower the tiny pieces of our lives fit together to complete the whole. I thank them for their love, encouragement and support and for being the special people they are. This photo was taken in Monet's Garden at Giverney in France.

Footprints

You can always find something to photograph, like this trail we found on the beach in the Cape Range National Park. It's a snapshot of a life, just as special as our own.

Wreath Leschenaultia

This unique wildflower only grows in a small area of Western Australia. We saw this one along Sanderson Road in the Mid West.

Queen of Sheba Orchid

One of the most exquisite varieties of Western Australia's orchids.

Crimson Spider Orchid

Yilliminning Rock, Western Australia. Orchids love the granite outcrops scattered about our wheatbelt.

Blue Lady Orchid

South West, Western Australia

We have a patch of bush near our home, where I search for wild orchids, like this donkey orchid.

Native Cornflower

Leopard Orchid

Leopard Orchid seen along the old Ellensbrook Road near the historical Ellensbrook Homestead near Margaret River.

Boronia

Haddleton Nature Reserve, Western Australia

Wattle

The wattle must surely be the most widespread family of Australian Wildflowers, with 100's of varieties. This one was seen at Canna Dam in WA's midwest.

Southern Native Rose

Tuart Walk near Bunbury.

Silver Cassia

A burst of yellow on the Morawa to Yalgoo Road in the Mid West.

Mulla Mulla

There are many varieties of Mulla Mulla. This delicate variety we found at the abandoned Ragged Hill Minesite, on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert in the Pilbara
